Pamela has been exploring her creativity through painting and sewing since she was a young child. Her preferred painting medium is watercolor, "I love that it can be pushed to show a wide variety of textures, levels of value and transparency. It is a dance between the paper, water and pigment manipulated by my brush, so it is always surprising and challenging." The artist has studied under numerous teachers including Terry Maden, of whom she is a certified teacher, having taught watercolor courses at Wake Tech Community College in Raleigh. Studying art and design at The Rhode Island School of Design, Pamela went on to own her own design business in Kansas City, serving her clients with an instinctive ability to pair colors, texture and forms in home interiors. Having a enthusiasm for the design process, she loved beginning with the creation of her own patterns and custom sewing to produce unique window treatments and accessories for the home. These experiences are the backdrop with fabric and home stitching. The intentions behind Pamela's painting and textile creations is to generate smiles of enjoyment from the colorful artwork and contemplation of the insightful words of wisdom expressed. The artist is a certified meditation instructor with The Chopra Center for Wellbeing and resides in Raleigh, NC with her husband and westie, Zoey.
